Facial Lipofilling
What is Facial Lipofilling?
Facial Lipofilling is an aesthetic surgical procedure whereby own fat, suctioned from the same person’s abdomen or thighs, is processed and injected into areas of facial ageing without volume and with thinned skin. Thus, one of the first choices in combating dark circles with thinned skin and skin color changed and filling lost volume of the cheekbones or facial contouring.
Lipofilling uses natural attributes of fat cells to combat the phenomenon of ageing. With the passing of the years, the skin thins, favoring the appearance of wrinkles, dark circles and skin laxity increase.
Lipofilling is “filling” those areas suffering the action of ageing and offers a natural rejuvenating effect without risk of rejection by the body of the injected collagen.

What happens during Facial Lipofilling surgery?
Fat extraction
Fat can be taken from any part of the body that has enough fat deposits. In most cases abdomen or inner and outer thighs are preferred. Under local anaesthesia, a small incision is made through which the required amount is aspired. Extraction is performed so that the traces of the incision will be minimum, unperceivable.
Fat processing
The extracted amount is subject to processing before being injected. It consists of centrifuging and purifying the fat to get maximum value and to be easily inserted later into the organism.
Injecting the processed fat
The fat is injected in small quantities and evenly distributed proportionally to the volume required by the points chosen at the level of the treatment site in form of bundles.
Thus, the transplanted cells provide maximum contact with the adjacent tissues, such as skin, muscles, and cartilage. The latter will provide oxygen and nutrients needed for optimal growth.
Post-surgery recovery
You will be required to wear a compression bandage for 3 weeks and antithrombotic compression stockings that cover at least the period of bed rest and, after two weeks, is recommended to perform a light massage for the lymphatic stimulation of the liposuctioned areas.
Ecchymosis (bruising) may persist for up to three weeks, accompanied by local swelling which will withdraw spontaneously in 3-4 weeks.
For patients who have undergone liposuction surgery in areas from the waist down, postoperative anticoagulant treatment will be administered to prevent venous thrombosis.
The end result will be visible after about 3 months from the surgery, during this period can be observed a gradual decrease in weight and size of the liposuctioned areas. You should avoid exposure to ultraviolet rays for at least 6 months after surgery.
